Physical activity is an important part of a middle school student’s life. It improves health, concentration and self-esteem. It also reduces stress and promotes physical growth and development.
Our sports programs aim to develop in our students a positive attitude and an interest in a wide range of physical activities. They also aim to raise student’s awareness in making good health and fitness choices.
Basketball - January, 2018
We are starting basketball again and we have four teams running.
Grade 6's are co-ed and they play at lunch time Tuesday, Thursday and Friday, with some grade 8's helping to coach and referee. Coaches are Mr. Svorinic and Ms. Marcone
Grade 7 boys are coached by Ms. Dawson and Ms. Ryznar (Sam's Mom) and they practice Friday after school with games on Tuesdays (see schedule below)
Grade 8 girls are coached by Ms. Weir and Ms. Bjerke, and they practice Thursday afterschool and games are on Wednesday (schedule attached).
Grade 8 boys are coached by Mr. Goring and they practice Monday's, with games on Wednesday (schedule attached).
We still need Refs and Scorekeepers for the upcoming season, parents are welcome to participate. E-mail Mr. Goring to request more details.
