Parents/ guardians will be notified via email about the results of the cross catchment application during the first week of March. Successful applicants will be contacted by the school and‚Äč‚Äč students will automatically be registered to ‚Äč‚Äčthe new school.

SD43 uses a random draw process. The application requires the student Personal Education Number (PEN) (can be obtained from your child's school or report card). PEN/ student number is not required for students starting in Kindergarten in September 2022.

Hot Weather

Please try to find care for your child for the afternoon. If this is not possible they can stay at school until our usual dismissal time (2:38). Please open this item for instructions on this early dismissal.

‚ÄčProcedure for picking your child up at 12:00 on Tuesday, June 29th:

  • You may pick your child up from his or her teacher at their classroom door
  • If you are sending somebody who is not on your child's list of contacts, please let the teacher know.
  • If your child is older and you want them to meet you somewhere other than their classroom door, please send an email or a note to your child's teacher to let them know ‚Äď students whose parents do not come to the door at 12:00 or provide instructions in a note or an email will continue on at school until the usual dismissal time (2:38).

Cross Catchment Applications are for families who wish for their children to attend a school that is not their regular catchment school. You will need your child's nine digit PEN (Personal Education Number) to complete the application. PEN's can be found on formal report cards or through your school. For students starting Kindergarten in September 2021, you do not need to provide the PEN.

Please do not visit schools - access to school buildings is restricted. ‚Äč

New student registration is available at local schools. ‚Äč

  1. ‚ÄčPlease use our School Locator tool to determine your catchment/ neighbourhood school. Simply type in your street name.
  2. Once you have determined your catchment school, prepare the required documentation such as Proof of Citizenship for parent and child, Proof of BC residency and Proof of Guardianship. A complete list can be found on our Student Registration Information.
  3. Contact the school directly to obtain an electronic registration package and more information on how to submit important registration documents.‚Äč Links to school websites and contact information here‚Äč.

‚ÄčPlease register at your catchment/ neighbourhood elementary school directly and bring your complete supporting documents. 

We welcome new parents to School District 43! It's time to register for Kindergarten. 

To register for Kindergarten, children must be five years old on or before December 31st, 2020. 

Step 1: Locate your catchment / neighbourhood elementary school

Use our School Locator to identify your catchment/ neighbourhood elementary school. 

Step 2: Bring your complete supporting documents to your catchment/ neighbourhood elementary school.

Please read the Funding Eligibility Checklist for a list of documents needed for registering at your catchment / neighbourhood elementary school. 

Are you a non-resident of Canada? Contact International Education at 604-936-5769 or visit 1100 Winslow Ave., Coqutilam. 

Please note our Kindergarten Programs of Choice - Montessori, Mandarin Bilingual, Reggio and French Immersion registration is now closed.
