Pitt River Middle School
To increase the number of students in all grades from 'Not Yet Meeting', 'Emerging', and 'Developing' to 'Effective' and 'Strong'  in writing skills.  The focus to be in the areas of organization and conventions. 
To increase number of students in all grades to 'Fully Meeting' or 'Exceeding' expectations in reading.


Previous Reading Objective: To improve the reading comprehension of fiction materials for all grade 6,7,and 8 students by teaching the reading strategies from Reading Power, specifically focusing on 'Connect', 'Question', and 'Visualize' in grades 6/7 and 'Infer' and 'Transform' in grade 8.

To increase the number of students in all grades from “Not Meeting Expectations” or “Minimally Meeting Expectations,” to “Fully Meeting Expectations” in Math. The focus is to be in the area of Number Sense.

To increase the number of students in all grades from 'Not Yet Meeting', 'Emerging', and 'Developing' to 'Effective' and 'Strong' in writing skills. The focus to be in the areas of organization and conventions.

To increase the number of students in all grades from “Not Meeting Expectations” or “Minimally Meeting Expectations,” to “Fully Meeting Expectations” in Math. The focus is to be in the area of Number Sense.
*** Please note that we will be switching our current math goal to a social responsibility goal for the 2014/2015 school year. Due to job action, we have been unable to complete the consultation process with staff or SPC. This will be completed in September and a new APL will be done at that time. Until such time as consultation is completed, we will continue with our existing math goal.
