Physical activity is an important part of an elementary school student’s life. It improves health, concentration and self-esteem. It also reduces stress and promotes physical growth and development.
Our sports programs aim to develop in our students a positive attitude and an interest in a wide range of physical activities. They also aim to raise student’s awareness in making good health and fitness choices.
At Panorama students are exposed to several activities. Throughout the year we have volleyball and basketball teams/leagues with our grade five students. Grade 5's also have the opportunity to participate in an after school floor hockey program. We are proud to host our annual "Hoops for Hope" basketball tournament that raises funds for Crossroads Hospice. In January, we also have an instructional basketball program called "Four Ball" overseen by ex NBA player Lars Hansen. In the spring we offer a cross country running program for grades 3-5 that culminates in the District Como Lake Relays run. In April and May, students in grades 3-5 have the opportunity to participate in our Track and Field program. Like the Como Lake Relays, selected participants to our track and field program get to participate in the District Track and Field day at Town Center Stadium. Finally, a new running program, called the 'Panorama Panthers' sponsored by our parents allows any student to run in a supervised program, throughout the school year
