Welcome to Lord Baden-Powell Elementary School. I know that you and your children will find this to be an excellent school community in which to learn about and share life together!
The relationship between home and school should be a close one. Our children spend almost as many of their waking hours at school as they do at home. Just as it is important for parents to share information about the children, it is important for the school to share information with the parents so that together we can enhance learning for all children. The information found at the beginning of this agenda is intended to assist you in becoming familiar with the procedures used at Lord Baden-Powell Elementary School.
Each school year Lord Baden-Powell School submits an Action Plan for Learning (A.P.L.) to the Board of Trustees. The purpose of the A.P.L. is improving student achievement and enhancing student learning. The School Planning Council is an advisory body composed of the Principal and three parents elected at a regular meeting of the Parent Advisory Council (one of which must be a P.A.C. executive member). The S.P.C. is responsible for developing and reviewing the Action Plan for Learning Plan each year, keeping the school accountable in its focus on student achievement. The goal of the school improvement plan for the current school year is to improve students’ reading comprehension and writing.
We look forward to working with your children this year. Please remember that if you have any questions or concerns, just ask. Just like every other year, we are here to help your child have an outstanding year at Lord Baden-Powell Elementary
