School starts on Tuesday,
September 3. Here is what you need to know…
Tuesday, September 3
All Grade 1 through 5 children will attend school from 10-10:45
am. All students in Grades 1-4 will meet in the same classroom they were
in last year. All Grade 5 students will meet in Mr. Borle’s classroom. For
children who are new to the Alderson Community, please meet me in the front
hallway outside the library.
Parents of Kindergarten Students please come to the Library at 9:00 for
information about gradual entry and to sign up for a Welcoming Conversation
with your child’s teacher. Information about the gradual-entry schedule for
your child was sent out to all Kindergarten families in June and again
yesterday – if you have any questions this will be a time to ask them. If you
don’t have that information please let me know.
Wednesday, September 4 – Friday, September 6
Kindergarten Students will attend school on the days listed in the letter we
sent in June and again yesterday.
Grade 1 through 5 will be assigned to ‘family groups’ for the first week
of school. We will explain how this will work to all students on Tuesday.
On Wednesday, there will be lists posted on the windows at the front entrance
of the school and on each of the classroom windows to let children know what
room their family grouping will meet in for the week. This is the room
your child will report to each morning and be dismissed from at the end of each
day during the first week.
On the first full day of school (Wednesday) please send your child with
their pencil box, a snack for recess, and some lunch.
Monday, September 10
Our hope is to have classroom placement for the year finalized by
Monday, September 10 and to let students know which classroom they are in. At
the end of the day they will be dismissed again from their family group
classroom along with a note to let you know who your child’s new teacher is. On
Tuesday they will enter and leave from their new classroom.
As always – if you have any questions please send me an email. We are
looking forward to another great school year!
See you soon J
