*Best thing to do right now is listen to the different band instruments to choose which sound speaks to YOU! 🤗
Be Part of the Band - Instruments
Thank you so much for your inquiry of Eagle Mountain Middle's Music Program. EMM offers Beginning Band, Advanced Band, Choir, Strings Club and.... new this year - Jazz Band!
Interested in joining Beginning Band? Come back to this page for the 2026-2027 Registration link (open 8am first day of school) this form is where to sign up and pick your instrument. The videos are very important to listen to before making your instrument choice. First come, first serve for instrument selections. There are limited numbers of each instrument to achieve a balanced band. Please do not be concerned about this, because being part of the band, making friends, experiencing the large music ensemble is what is important 😆🎷🤗🎺😁🎵🙌🏼
Band is a fun way to learn a new instrument. Both Choir and Band are amazing opportunities to meet new friends across the whole school, and get special opportunities to perform at school, as well as go on fieldtrips to perform at district festivals.
Music is a life-long journey, giving kids problem solving skills, confidence, focus, builds brain cells as they read music, positive community and teamwork. Middle school is a place to try new things - why wait? You may love it and go on in music in secondary level, giving you more opportunities to travel and make life-long friends!
Registration Link: *coming Tuesday September 8 @ 8am Make sure to watch videos about band instruments.
Unless you previously own your instrument, it is highly recommended to rent your instrument for a minimum of one year. Dropping the instrument just one time can cause expensive repairs. Long and McQuade music store in Port Coquitlam (near Costco) is the largest music store chain in Canada. They know what they are doing.
SAVE THE DATE! Parent Info and Rental Night Thursday, Sept. 17th 5:30pm EMM Music Room
Mrs. Ipe will have important information to share about the music program and Long and McQuade will have rental forms, instruments on display, and they will be able to answer your questions.
Tuesday Sept. 22rd 6 - 7:30pm SQUEEKS AND SQUAWKS Beginning Band kick-off event! All new students must attend. Please arrive at 5:50pm in the music room to pick up your instrument. L & M will deliver the instruments to EMM in time for Squeeks and Squawks. Beginning Band students are taught by Heritage Woods senior band students (we have an amazing relationship!)how to take good care of their instrument, how to make a sound and their first few notes! Parents return for students' first "concert" in the gym at 7:05pm. Students then learn how to clean and pack up their instrument before leaving. A very important (and FUN) event that should not be missed.
First Beginning Band Class - Tues. Sept. 14 @ 7:40am (with no instruments) First step is to introduce ourselves and learn to read rhythms and notes. Instruments come Tues. Sept. 22rd.
Advanced Band Class - Thurs., Sept. 15 @ 7:40am
Choir Class - Weds., Sept. 16 @ 7:45am for grades 6, 7, and 8 Just sign up in the Music room starting first day of school. Listen for important announcements!
Thanks for reading this important information! Have you chosen an instrument yet? Maybe choose a second choice. I can hardly wait to meet you and teach you music in the Fall!
