Congratulations to all Monty students and staff for taking on the environmental responsibility of recycling your food waste and reducing our overall garbage production here at Monty!  The average volume of our dumpsters went from 3.6 cubic metres of smelly garbage per week down to just 2.3 cubic metres!  That’s a difference of 1.3 cubic metres of waste diverted from our local landfill in Cache Creek to much more useful means such as compost and energy production.  

Next year, we are going to continue with , food recycling, paper/cardboard recycling, refundable recycling, and maybe even start other non-refundable plastic recycling.  Pretty soon, regular garbage will just be a thing of the past!

I would like to to give a special shout-out to the members of The Monty Green Team for their time, effort and dedication to making this planet a much better and cleaner place to live in: Also, Ms. Beauregard was extremely helpful as a co-leader of the team  and the rest of our fabulous custodial staff!
