Work in Trades

Youth WORK in Trades isn't a traditional high school course.  Students in this program already have a paid job in trades and complete the coursework online through Coquitlam Open Learning.

Students that work in an apprenticeable trade  can:

  • gain high school credits (up to 16) that count towards graduation;
  • learn and apply specific skills while getting paid;
  • earn hours towards trade certification;
  • potentially qualify for a $1000 scholarship from the Ministry of Education.

Click here for the requirements for the $1000 Youth WORK in Trades Scholarship.

NOTE:  students that sign up for Youth WORK in Trades after July 1, 2024 will be enrolled in the NEW Work in Trades program.  More information to come on the changes to the requirements and the award.

If you have a paid job in trades, please complete the WORK in Trades Survey or scan this QR code:
