Leadership announcement - Today is the beginning of RAC WEEK which stands for: Real Acts of Caring and here is the history behind this eventful week! RAC was created by grade 4 and 5 students at Central Community School in 2005 and it is about doing something caring and kind for others and not expecting anything in return. Since it began in 2005, RAC has spread all over BC and beyond.
This year the focus of RAC Week is Mental Health and Wellness and our Moody Leadership students have some fun things planned to get you involved.
First and foremost, the theme colour for RAC week is PURPLE – did you remember to wear PURPLE today? Well don't worry if you forgot, there are 4 mores days ahead! Each day this week we will have an activity happening in the MPR that you can take part in - to show you care about others before yourself…and all week long you can put in your guess for the number of candies in the Valentine Guessing Jar! Top guessing students in each Pod and Class will receive a treat on Tuesday, Feb. 20th. So, make sure to take a good, close look at the jar – it is full of Mr. Budai's favourite treat…spicy, sweet, cinnamon hearts! Oh, and one more thing…
We wanted to THANK every student in the school who did such a wonderful job colouring the Valentine envelopes for Hazel Trembath – they are being delivered today! What a great way to kick off RAC week! Thank you all for giving generously! And remember to…show your Moody spirit this week, and be kinder than necessary.
Mindful Monday with Ms. Armstrong.
Have a great day, everyone.
