At Roy Stibbs Elementary we are proud to be a school that values and promotes kindness and connectedness. We work hard for everyone to follow our initiative called The Power of Five: Be Safe, Be Kind, Be Responsible, Be Encouraging and Be Brave.
At Roy Stibbs, we have a diverse population of approximately 220 students and 8 International students. Our families come from all areas of the globe and bring to the school a rich diversity of languages and cultures.
Our staff is committed to working together to help each child learn and grow socially, emotionally and academically both in and out of the classroom. We offer a variety of curricular and extra-curricular programs. Students have many opportunities to participate on athletic teams, develop and show their talent in music or choir, celebrate their learning and accomplishments during our daily Power Up assemblies and participate in a variety of clubs such our Gardening Club. Students also have numerous opportunities to develop leadership skills through activities such as buddies, becoming morning announcers, running assemblies, as well as becoming classroom, equipment, hot lunch and office monitors.
We feel strongly that opportunities beyond the classroom enrich our students learning. Our staff strive to facilitate this with clubs, field trips, annual carnival, Friendship Day, guest speakers and cultural performances.
Parents are partners in education and we value the time, effort and support of our parent community. We have a very dedicated and committed PAC at Roy Stibbs who sponsor numerous activities and events throughout the year including our school-wide picnic to Belcarra in June.
