Reminders from Ms. Jung
Safety First
We continue to practice safety protocols every day beginning with our Daily Health Check! When we are at school, we find a way to be ready to learn and to follow respectful protocols like keeping our hands to ourselves, visiting the vending machine at the best times through the day, before and after school, and wearing a mask we have packed... just in case... when and if we feel we need to wear one.
R is for Respect
Some of us continue to wear a mask and we appreciate that everyone feels differently about being comfortable due to COVID and illnesses. We do not know what is happening for our peers at home and outside of school so we always show compassion towards others. If someone has done something wrong, we use our words and say them loudly if necessary. Speaking loudly is different from a high pitched scream which is not necessary. Take it from Ms. Jung who knows all about hearing health!
Earth Week
Earth Week continues! Each Pod has started to share responsibilities for keeping our school grounds clean. Additionally, Divisions 15 and 16 from Water Pod went out and cleaned up the perimeter of our school and found pails and pails of garbage. While we wish it weren't from any of us, for sure, some of it is! Let's do out part to pick up, recycle, shop for things with less packaging and pack our lunches so that there is less waste. And yes, turn off the tap when you're brushing your teeth, please!

Thanks to our students who participated in the Street Banner contest! We received some amazing entries and will be sharing the results very soon! Happy Birthday to Ms. Tarkeshian in Division 4! We also wish a happy birthday to Tristan and Mason. Also, over the weekend, happy birthday to Tristan, Ava, Luca, Ashley, and Liam!

-Congratulations to Ms. Turje's class for digging deep to plant their wildflower mixture of seeds this afternoon! We appreciate Mr. Clay purchasing the planter bins we'll be using for our outdoor garden, too!
-This is a big one! Remember when we were in grade 5, anxious about middle school? Well, we met with over 80 parents and students on ZOOM last night to share the good things about middle school life. Special thanks to our student leaders who helped Mr. Clay and Ms. Jung pull off an amazing 90 minute event! Hats off to Azul, Emma, Calli, Emilie, Isabella, Samuel, and Dani. The group of you made our night more fun and we are proud of your leadership! Emilie even presented her spoken word slam, Remember, Recover, Together, and received many kudos for her work! Woo hoo! High Fives all around!
SPORTS / GYM
Lunch time open gym today is for all grade 7s.
Volleyball Club is today after school in the gym; please enter from the outside at the amphitheatre.
Starting next week, each Monday afternoon, basketball club will resume.
