Daily Announcements- 18-Jun-2021

June 18, 2021

Let's welcome on this sunny Friday, the following visitors to our school! We are happy to have you here. We will show our Moody spirit to: Ms. Lemon, and Mr. Witt

 Reminders from Ms. Jung

Let's make today a great one by staying the course. I am so grateful for most of you who adhere to mask wearing all the time except to eat and possibly play an intense sport like soccer or basketball, outside. That means PE in the gym is masks on, too!  Be prepared by sporting sunscreen, covering up, bringing a water bottle and a hat for outside! Wash your hands regularly and remember that if you are touching someone else, you're better off taking a few steps back!

Library Books/BYOD Devices
Please get those books and borrowed school laptops back in as soon as possible! Be sure to check under the bed for items that belong to Moody and to save your files from this year in safe and accessible location online!

National Indigenous Day
In light of the tragic events that have unfolded at the Kamloops Residential School, let's make sure that we are being active about our ability to do something moving forward. While those 215 children's voices were silenced, ours are not. We have a voice and we are able to do something meaningful to show that the truth has come out and it is now time to reconcile (“re-con-s-eye-l") these kinds of wrongs and learn more about how to prevent history from repeating itself. We are a community and we can wear our orange shirts together on Monday because “Every… child… matters…." Show we are thinking about National Indigenous Day, every day and look forward to learning how we can move forward together with your teachers on Monday and always…

High Fives
Read with high fives
It was hot yesterday, but Levi, Arianna and Brianna still worked hard to finish the grey checkerboard painting without stopping until they were done! Woohoo!

Last week we had Pro-D and Mr. Clay gifted everyone with a book called Embers, by Richard Wagamese, First Nations author from the Wabaseemoong nation in Ontario. Wow!

Ms. Reichert led us in a drumming circle supported by Mme Grayston, with a special Cree song, too. Sometimes something small has lasting impact weeks later so, thank you, Ms. Reichert!

Mme Grayston and her class put together our Lost and Found – how awesome was that?! Got pockets, anyone?!

Divisions 1-17 led the way for our final Wellness Wednesday led by Ms. Stibbs. Everyone worked hard to give back to our community! The rocks in the garden by Wind Pod are lovely. The grounds look much cleaner! Thank you!
