Happy Star Wars Day! May the 4th be with you.
Greetings to our guests in the building today! May the fourth be with you! Some are familiar faces, too! We begin with day 2 for Ms. Hutchison, a support teacher practicum student from Sprott Shaw College who loved her first day yesterday in Ms. Oak's class. We also welcome Ms. Motick, Ms. Ganacheva, Mr. Ross, Mr. Montgomery, Ms. Willan and Ms. Key-ly. Have a good day here at Moody!
Reminders from Ms. Jung
Mandatory mask wearing inside and outside are the norm as are hand washing, distancing and keeping small social circles, even outside of school. We know that even small positive action is a respectful act of kindness. Most of us are following through but why not all of us! Being responsible isn't always easy but it it does matter and you do matter! Bring your class equipment from your learning group back in if it went out with you. Sit side by side outside instead of across from each other. Eat in your seat and don't share your food! Mask up and then line up. Stop and wait if there is foot traffic ahead! We can do this together! Let's do it!
Mental Health tips from our Student Leadership Team

Luckily, Moody Middle is filled with lots of friends, teachers and other staff who are happy to chat if you'd like some help to figure it out. If you'd like to talk, reach out to one or more of us!
A message from our counsellor, Ms. Armstrong
Exercise is good for your body. But did you know that it is also good for mental health? Here are a few ways exercise can help:
- It helps us cope with stress
- It lowers anxiety
- It lifts our mood and boosts our energy
- It helps us feel good about ourselves
- It helps us sleep well
You do not have to spend a lot of time for these effects either. Just 30 minutes a day, three or four days a week is enough to see big changes. It does not matter what kind of activity you do.
Here are some tips for boosting the mental health effects of exercise:
- Pick something you enjoy. Remember, you can do any activity that gets you moving! If you like the activity, you are more likely to do it.
- focus on how the activity makes you feel.
- Exercise with someone else, pick someone from your bubble or a pet. You will get the benefits of exercise, plus you will connect with someone else. This is also good for your mental health. You are also more likely to keep up with your exercise if you plan with someone else.
- The next time you feel sad, worried or stressed, trying going for a walk outside. Walking is a fast and easy way to feel better about things in your life.
