Dear Families,
Today at recess two of our students were playing by the fence along Victoria Dr, close to Toronto. While playing there, a stranger walking by saw them, told them “Here have some chocolate” threw a couple of chocolate bars over the fence and kept on walking. From my conversation with the students involved there was no further conversation nor attempt to lure them off of school grounds.
For safety reasons we have contacted the RCMP as well as the school board office to inform them of the event. Staff have been informed and have spoken to the students about safety, who the safe adults are at school and how to identify them. (all supervisors wear reflective vests at school). The students are both safe and never felt as though they were in danger.
