Cycling BC's HopOn (formerly iRide) program is designed to inspire young riders through a bike skills and safety program that allows children to experience cycling in a safe and fun way. The HopOn program will take the place on June 13, 14 and 15th for Grade 4 and 5 students. Students will have one session each day. A schedule will be sent home closer to the start date of the program. PLEASE NOTE: An online acknowledgment of risk form must be signed before any child is permitted to participate in this program. Please refer to the parent letter which has been sent home for a link to the waiver and more details on the program.
Although highly encouraged, participation is optional. If your child chooses not to participate, alternate learning experiences will be provided at school. Please complete your form and payment by no later than Wednesday, May 31, 2023. While school staff take reasonable steps to prevent injuries to students, some degree of risk is inherent in the nature of activities and may occur without fault on the part of the student, School Board, its employees or agents, or the facility where the activity is taking place. By allowing your child to participate in this activity, you are agreeing that the activity described above is suitable for your child, and that there is a risk of injury associated with the activity. No student will be denied access to this activity due to an inability to pay. Please contact the school’s principal to discuss a fee waiver.
