Dear Parents:
This letter contains important information regarding our Walton community’s Terry Fox assembly, run, and fundraising efforts this year.
Assembly – Wednesday, September 23rd @ 10:40 a.m.
Please join us for our annual assembly as Division 1 students share Terry Fox’s inspirational story of courage and determination.
National School Run Day – Wednesday, September 30th @ 1:45 p.m.
Wear your running gear and join us on our school run! We’ll meet in the gym to warm-up, then head out by division to run or walk our route. Our route takes us up Sherman St., right on Delahaye Dr., along Walton Ave., through the trail, and ends at the lower playground. There, we will join our Kindergarten students in doing laps of the lower field until everyone returns. Please let your child’s teacher know if you can attend and help supervise his/her class on the run. Please email me ffriend@sd43.bc.ca to volunteer. Please ensure you have completed the Parent Volunteer eForm found on our school website, http://www.sd43.bc.ca/walton
Fundraising
This year, we are fundraising in three ways:
1. We will be collecting “toonies for Terry” every day next week
2. A “friends and family” pledge sheet will be sent home in planners tomorrow
3. You can donate to our school online or your child can create his/her own fundraising page by visiting the web site www.terryfox.org.
Let’s work together to outrun cancer and make this our best effort yet!
With thanks,
Mrs. Frances Friend
