Walton Elementary will support the Heart and Stroke Foundation by participating in the Jump Rope for Heart program.
We will feature an introduction assembly on Wednesday, April 22nd after morning fitness. This will involve pledge collecting and prizes. We will combine both primary and intermediates to hear about the Jump Rope for Heart campaign. The Jump Rope Coordinate, Mrs. Sandra Griffin, will be here to talk to the students.
We are also calling April 22nd Jersey Day. Students are welcome to wear any jersey they have. If students do not have a jersey, they can wear a shirt that has a colour of their favourite team! Parents are welcome to attend and are encouraged to wear their jersey!
We plan on combining the actual Jump Rope for Heart skipping event as a station at our Sports Day on June 5th.
I want to wish our Grade 4 and 5 Como Lake Relay Team all the best as their race is scheduled tomorrow (Thursday, April 16th). Fifty students have been training for the annual 4x1200m race. Thanks to Mrs. Sadowski, Mrs. Miller and Mrs. Friend for training our team!
Friday, April 17th is a Professional Day. Our staff will be engaged in learning more about Social Emotional Learning. We have some very exciting ideas to share soon!
