Technology

Technonolgy is an important interaactive tool that we use throughout the building.  We have 30  laptops on a cart available for use in classrooms.  This portable  resource  helps in providing embedded technology activities into all that we do.   The rennovated computer lab will also house a class set of laptops but can now also be used as an optional instructional space.

Each classroom is equipped  a  projector, document scanner, ipad and additional laptops to support learning.     lpad tubs of 5 or 6 are also available to document children's learning and for independent skill practice and research as WIFI is  accessible throughout the school.  One of our classrooms presently holds an interactive SMART board.

Several teachers also use a sound field system as an adaptive tool to help children hear their teachers voices above the quiet dim in the classroom.   Some children struggle to pick out voices from the scrapping of chairs or hallway noise so this supports their ability to listen and learn more effectively.

All of our teachers try to use various apps or email to communicate with parents throughout the year.  Notices will be coming home in September to help you connect with your child's teacher if you are able to access these links.   Notices in the planner or K duotang and paper newsletters will continue to be sent home regularly.  Technology access while a modern tool, is not a requirement for parents.
