Welcome to the 2018-2019 school year at Alderson.

School starts on Tuesday, September 4.  Here is what you need to know!

Tuesday, September 4

All Grade 1 through 5 children will attend school from 10-10:30 am.  Please report to the classroom you attended in June.  If you are new to the Alderson Community, please come to the front hallway outside the library

Parents of Kindergarten Students please come to the Library at 9:00 to sign up for a Welcoming Conversation with your child’s teacher. Information about the gradual-entry schedule for your child was sent out to all Kindergarten families in June. If you don’t have that information please let us know.

Wednesday, September 5 – Friday, September 7

Grade 1 through 5 will be assigned to ‘family groups’ for the opening week of school. We will explain how this will work to all students on Tuesday. On Wednesday, there will be lists posted outside the office and in all of the ‘team windows’.  This is the room you will report to each morning and be dismissed from at the end of each day this week.  You will also return to this room on Monday, September 10.

You will need to bring your pencil box, indoor shoes, a healthy snack for recess and a healthy lunch.

Kindergarten Students will attend school on the days listed in the letter we sent in June.

Families are encouraged to join us on Friday, September 7 at 2 pm for an ice-cream social.  Kindergarten students are welcome to attend with their parents.
