• Teens can get volunteer hours, a letter of reference, and a variety of days/times for volunteering that they can fit into their schedules. 
• Teens will help library staff run fun events and activities for kids, including: Nintendo Switch parties or STEAM programs, using tech like Snap Circuits or Sphero Bolts. 

To sign up for TAG, teens can attend the orientation session (September 12 from 2:00-3:30pm), call or visit the library, or email me, Chantelle, cmcgee@fvrl.bc.ca. We will provide them with a TAG application form. 

We are seeking passionate and curious young people to gain hands-on experience in fashion and event production through various roles, such as social media, photography, backstage work, and front-of-house.

• Open to students in Grades 9-12
• Must reside in Coquitlam and/or attend a school in the Tri-Cities
• Meetings take place on the first Friday of each month from October 2026 to May 2027
• Volunteer hours will be provided
• YAC members receive a Youth Arts Council t-shirt

Together with Place des Arts staff, YAC members will develop and lead two youth-focused initiatives: deliver an art activity at our Family Day event (February 2027) and organize & host a youth event (May 2027)

- volunteers help with activity booths, welcome & direct attendees, support Passport Stamp Tour, assist with setup and take down, help create a positive & welcoming experience for the community

Program Details

• Location: Smiling Creek Elementary at Library/Learning Commons

Through the program, participants:

• Earn volunteer hours 
• Gain hands-on retail and customer service experience 
• Build leadership and communication skills 
• Receive resume, cover letter, and interview support 
• Participate in financial literacy training 
• Receive mentorship from a caring adult volunteer 
• Develop practical skills to recognize and respond to discrimination and promote inclusion 
• Complete a youth-led community awareness project 
• Receive a certificate and $150 honorarium upon successful completion
