Sports and Athletics

Kilometer Club

All Kilmer students participate in Kilometer Club.  This happens as part of our efforts to encourage daily physical activity.  Thanks to the support of the KPAC students receive feet for every 10km completed.

Game Ready Lunch Time Coaches run soccer twice a week in Fall Term for intermediate students.

Gymnastics

On a school wide basis we have the gymnastics equipment set up in January for three weeks.

Grade 5 Teams

Grade 5 students have the opportunity to participate in volleyball (October-November) and basketball (February-March) jamboree at the end of each season.

Great Kilmer Relay & Como Lake Relay

Training for the Great Kilmer Relay, followed by Como Lake Relays starts before Spring Break with events in late March/April for all grade 3, 4 and 5 students.

Track Attack & District Track Meet

Grade 3, 4 & 5 students participate in Track Attack (an introduction to track and field events) and then try out for the district track meet held in the week after the May long weekend.

KHL  Kilmer Hockey League

A highlight for our Grade 4 and 5 students is to play in the Kilmer Hockey League (KHL), refereed by Game Ready coaches at Lunchtimes.

May Pole Dance Team

Students in grades 3-5 are invited to learn the traditional May Pole Dances and participate in the City of Port Coquitlam Opening Ceremony for May Days.

Professional Athletes & Coaches

Every year we are open to visits from professional athletes. We are pleased to have hosted Vancouver Warriors Lacrosse, BC Lions Football, Port Coquitlam Minor Lacrosse and Poco Ringette Association to offer motivational presentations and coaching to Kilmer students during PE Classes.

Thank you to all the Kilmer staff members who volunteer their time to make these opportunities happen for students!
