On Wednesday, April 24 our school will be hosting a multicultural tasting event after school from 3-4 pm in the gym. The purpose of this fun, family event is to get a taste of the different and diverse foods and cultures that make up Irvine Elementary.  It is also a chance to bring our community together and to interact and get to know one another a little better.  If you choose to attend the event, you will need to bring a cultural dish to share (about 10-12 servings) and also accompany your child for the duration of the event.  This is not a drop-off activity. This event will take place in the gym and we will have tables set up where the food will be displayed.  Because different foods from different cultures highlight different ingredients, we will ask that those who have severe food allergies who wish to attend to please take extra precaution(s) as we will not be limiting the ingredients that are used in the dishes.

We encourage you to dress up in attire that represents your culture and to bring a dish that your family enjoys. We will have plates, bowls and utensils available for you to taste a bite of the different foods that represent the different cultures here at Irvine, and to serve a small taste of your own family's food. Our hope this that this event builds community and connections for our Irvine families, and that we can each sample a little taste of culture and food that represents our homes.
