Did you know that as a parent or guardian of a student at Aspenwood, you are automatically a member of the school’s Parent Advisory Council, also known as the PAC?
The PAC is a volunteer-led group that helps strengthen the connection between families, the school, and the broader Aspenwood community. Our goal is to support a positive, inclusive, and enriching school experience for all students.
The purpose of the PAC is to:
- Provide a forum for parents and guardians to share ideas, ask questions, and offer input or feedback about school programs, activities, and goals
- Work collaboratively with school staff and administration to support student learning, well-being, and community connection
- Help organize events, initiatives, and volunteer opportunities that bring families together and enhance school life
- Raise funds to support school goals, classroom needs, special programs, equipment, events, and other opportunities that benefit Aspenwood students
- Promote equal access to enrichment opportunities so that all students can feel included and supported
All Aspenwood parents and guardians are welcome and encouraged to participate in PAC meetings, events, discussions, and volunteer opportunities. Whether you are able to help regularly, occasionally, or simply stay informed, your voice and involvement are valued.

Volunteer Opportunities
Volunteer Opportunities
Our PAC events and programs would not be possible without the support of our wonderful parent and guardian volunteers. Thank you to everyone who gives their time, energy, and helping hands to support our school community.
There are many ways to get involved throughout the year, including hot lunch sorting, movie nights, Staff Appreciation Week, fundraising initiatives, school events, the Grade 5 Leaving Committee, and more. Volunteer opportunities will be shared throughout the year via Facebook, WhatsApp, email, and school newsletters.
Please keep an eye out for sign-up links as they are shared throughout the year. Whether you can help once in a while or on a regular basis, we would love to have you involved.
Grade 5 Committee
Did you know that Grade 5 events, such as the Carnival, Graduation Ceremony, and Luncheon, are organized and run by parents and guardians of graduating students?
If your child is entering Grade 5 in September, please keep an eye out for Grade 5-related news and updates throughout the school year. There will be various fundraising initiatives, such as the Winter Concert concession and freezie sales, as well as many volunteer opportunities to help make these special events possible.
For any Grade 5 Committee questions or to get involved, please email AspenwoodGr5Committee@gmail.com.
We look forward to working together to celebrate our Grade 5 students and make their final year at Aspenwood memorable.
MunchaLunch
Hot Lunch
When can I order hot lunch?
We offer three chances to order hot lunch per school year: the fall session, the winter session and the spring session. Ordering is open for two weeks each session.
Do you accept late orders?
Unfortunately, no. Our volunteers already put in countless hours to run the hot lunch program. It’s not possible to accept late orders.
Can I change my order once it’s been placed and paid for?
Unfortunately, no. Our volunteers already put in countless hours to run the hot lunch program. It’s not possible to accept changes or cancellations.
What if my child decides they no longer like pizza or subs? Can I change my order?
Unfortunately, no. Our volunteers already put in countless hours to run the hot lunch program. It’s not possible to accept changes or cancellations. We suggest donating the lunch. Our parent hot lunch sorting volunteers will make sure your child’s lunch goes to good use. Remember to pack a lunch for your child if they plan on donating their hot lunch. Not sure if your child likes A&W Teen Burgers or Subway Tuna Subs? We suggest doing a taste test at the restaurant before ordering.
How do I place an order?
Returning students and siblings of existing students: https://munchalunch.com/
New to Aspenwood? https://munchalunch.com/schools/aspenwood/
How can I sign up to volunteer in the school to sort and deliver hot lunches?
Instructions for volunteering will be communicated each session via planner strip, Facebook, WhatsApp, email and newsletters.
Do you offer vegetarian, gluten-free, etc. options?
Yes, but it’s up to you to do your homework. For specific nutrition and allergy information please visit individual vendor websites.
What if my child is sick or away on a hot lunch day?
We do not offer cancellations or refunds because orders are placed with vendors at least one week in advance. Please email aspenwoodpac2001@gmail.com if your child is sick or away. You can arrange to pick up the lunch or ask the parent hot lunch sorting volunteers to donate your child’s lunch.
PLEASE DO NOT CALL and/or EMAIL THE SCHOOL SECRETARY!

We want to keep you updated on our fundraising activities, events and PAC news. Visit us on Facebook often and let us know what you think.
WhatsApp
At the beginning of each school year, once students have been placed in their classrooms, the PAC will share a sign-up opportunity for Class Representative volunteers. Each division will have one Class Representative.
Class Representatives will help run a WhatsApp group for their division, which parents and guardians are welcome to join. These groups are used to share PAC updates, event information, fundraising details, volunteer opportunities, and other school community reminders.
Please keep an eye out for this information in September.
