École Irvine Elementary community, you’re awesome!
Thank you to all who came out this weekend to enjoy our annual Breakfast with Santa & support our community.
We had 327 guests, generated a 50/50 prize of $210, showcased 7 local vendors, had a ton of fun & raised money to support families that could use a bit of help through the holidays. It certainly ‘takes a village’ to have such a successful event!
From Misters Oun and Gwilliam, Masters of Ceremonies, to Ms. Birnie, Mrs. Yule, Ms. Gossen for your support, to our local politicians: Counsellors Nancy McCurrach and Steve Darling, MLA Mike Farnworth, MP Ron McKinnon and School Trustee Michael Thomas. From the parents who helped us to set up on Friday, to the family members and Terry Fox students who stirred batter, flipped flapjacks, served food, sold raffle and 50/50 tickets, ran food, and helped with clean up on Saturday. From our community supporters (see the list below) who donated goods, gift certificates and cash, to our vendors who purchased table space and donated raffle prizes. From our wonderful photographer Laura Thomas, helper elves Stephanie Harrison and Beth Thomas, to the man in red, Santa, himself. This is a village we can be proud of.
Thank you: Angelina, Frank, Alla, Greg, Ryan, “Mrs. G”, Karli, Ashley, Fei, Stephanie, Michael, Karen, Luke, Amanda, Cheryl, Geneve, Mikerra, Julia, Colleen, Theresa, Beth, Morgan for taking volunteering for the duties so necessary to have it all run smoothly. And to our fabulous caretakers Al and Milton, who truly took care of it all.
The Breakfast with Santa Committee is a great group of folks who make this amount of work loads of fun. Thank you deeply: Brenda, Tara, Jake, Steve, Rachel, Megan, Sarah, and Cori for helping steer me through my first year of organizing. We hope you all enjoyed yourselves as much as we did. And THANK YOU for spending time with us during this hustle-bustle part of the year - we hope to see you all again at Breakfast with Santa 2019.
