Welcome Grade 8s and returning students curious about the Course Selection Process at Fox! This is a page where you can find out some general information about Terry Fox Secondary, as well as more detailed information about specific courses and the course selection process.
General Info
For general information, we had a Grade 8 Parent Info Night at 6:30pm on Tuesday, January 21st. Weren't able to make it? Here is a recording of the meeting. If you don't have time for the whole video, you're welcome to flip through the slides shared at that meeting. If you have even less time, check out these short videos that we have posted on our TFSS YouTube channel: a quick video tour, an introduction to our elective classes, and this website with lots of details about our awesome STEAM Program.
Course Selection
The first step in selecting courses is to get access to MyEd BC, our online student information system (which is the platform students use to select and view their courses, and parents use to view progress reports). We have both a short video as well as a "How-To" document students and parents can use for help getting access, and another video explaining how to select courses.
The MyEd BC Student & Family Portal will be open for course selection on the following dates. Please note the underlined deadlines!
- Current Grade 8 students: Saturday, January 25th until Sunday, March 2nd
- Current Grade 9 students: Wednesday, January 29th until Monday, February 17th
- Current Grade 10 students: Thursday, January 30th until Sunday, February 23rd
- Current Grade 11 students: Friday, January 31st until Sunday, March 2nd
To help guide course selection, please explore our Course Selection Guide for detailed info about every course we offer.
Here are some grade-specific planning forms we use as an additional resource, as well as more details about choosing courses at each grade:
