I am the school counsellor at Porter Street Elementary and my role is to support the social and emotional learning needs of our students.  I can best be reached at hchang@sd43.bc.ca and I work on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays. 

 

Each week I write a column which I call the Counselling Corner which is intended to offer helpful ideas, resources, encouragement and insight on a variety of topics to support your child's social and emotional learning needs.

 

I look forward to hearing from you if you need my support or if you just wish to say hello!

Hello!

I am delighted to be the new counsellor at Porter Street Elementary School.  My role is to assist students with their social and emotional20210928_204548246_iOS.png development.  I will be servicing students through class visits, small group meetings and individual sessions.  If you have any concerns regarding your child, I am available to meet virtually, in person (outside), or on the phone.  I can best be reached at hchang@sd43.bc.ca and my days at Porter are Mondays, Wednesdays and Thursdays.

 

I will be writing a column which I call the Counselling Corner throughout the year.  It will appear on the school website and will address general and common child related concerns which have come to my attention from the parent communities at schools I have worked at over the years.

 

Thank you for trusting us with your child during such extraordinary circumstances.  It has been so great to see so many smiling welcoming eyes these past few weeks.  Thank you for all you have done in preparing your child to be safe while at school.  I am most impressed, grateful and humbled by your outstanding efforts.  I look forward to getting to know you all!
