Centennial School is pleased to announce that the Centennial Salmon Project and Fish and Wildlife 11/12 course has received a $10, 000 grant from the Habitat and Conservation Trust fund to enhance the learning opportunities for its students. Centennial School is in the unique position of being the only school in the Tri-Cities area to assist the daily operation the Mossom Creek Salmon Hatchery on an ongoing basis. In fact, a group of dedicated teachers and students from Centennial were responsible for starting the Mossom Creek Salmon Hatchery in 1976, and Centennial has been there every step of the way. The Grant will go toward enhancing the Educational and Field Work opportunities for Centennial students, and will focus on place based learning at its finest. For more information, please contact Ms Melanie Mattson, at Centennial.
