The 2019 Graduation Ceremony will be at the Massey Theatre. (735 8th Ave, New Westminster, BC). It will be held on June 20th 2019. It will start at 6pm. The students will need to arrive there between 4:15 and 4:30.
•Rehearsal
– All MUST attend at 4:30 pm. (arrive after 4:15 pm
at the back stage door (off 8th
Ave by Moody Park Arena)
•Caps and Gowns – distributed at ceremony
after rehearsal. This will be a very busy time and we need everyone there and
being as cooperative as possible!
•Ceremony – June 20th at 6 pm
•Tickets
will be distributed ahead of time. No tickets are available at the door.
•Doors to the theatre open at 5:30pm
for guests
• There is parking around the building
–encourage your guests to get there early… there is lots of construction right
now at NWSS! Parking at the theatre can be somewhat limited. There may be parking at the high school next door, however, there is NO PARKING at the Moody Park Arena. They will tow you.
Before you can participate in the Graduation Ceremony:
•You
must be in a position to graduate (80 credits or 20 credits for
Adult Grads)
•This
includes having written a numeracy assessment and a
provincial exam in English
(unless you are an Adult Dogwood). This
includes those who are writing at end
of June 24th, 25th,
26th.
•See
Mr. Miller or Ms. Charboneau ASAP to confirm what you need to
complete to
achieve graduation
•Complete
your Post Secondary Info (PSI) form
on-line
•See Sandy for your tickets ahead of June 20th!
BEFORE THE END OF MAY…
•You
MUST apply for LIFT, Stewart and other bursary money
BEFORE
May 24th (even if you have not quite graduated
yet)
•You
must go and see Mr. Sowerby to get your yearbook comment
written by May
22nd. You
will also be voting for your
valedictorian at that time (more on this to come)!
•If
you have already graduated, make sure we have your updated
email or contact
information so we can let you know who the
candidates are and get your vote for
valedictorian.
•You
will see Mr. Sowerby once you are officially graduated to
complete your
“crossing the stage” comment.
