Welcome to the Customized Learning Center (CLC)
At CLC, we believe every student deserves a learning environment where they feel safe, supported, and empowered to succeed. We are a small, flexible program designed for students in Grades 9β12 who thrive in a setting that values individualized learning and strong relationships. Our mission is simple: to help learners build confidence, achieve their goals, and graduate with a meaningful plan for the future.
What Makes CLC Unique?
- Personalized Learning: Each student has a customized schedule and a Student Learning Plan (SLP) tailored to their strengths, interests, and needs.
- Small Class Sizes: Our close-knit community allows for strong connections between students, families, and staff.
- Supportive Environment: With a full-time counsellor, youth worker, and learning support teachers, we provide wrap-around support for academic and social-emotional growth.
- Flexible Pathways: Students can work at their own pace, access hands-on electives, and engage in experiential learning opportunities.
- Safe and Caring Space: We prioritize well-being and belonging, creating a positive environment where learners can thrive.
Our Program
CLC offers a wide range of electives - from Art, Photography, and Guitar to Foods, Social Justice, and Work Experience - alongside core academic courses. We also integrate community engagement, Indigenous perspectives, and life skills development into our learning approach. Our goal is to prepare students not only for graduation but for success beyond high school.
Referral Process
Enrollment in CLC is by referral through the student's home school administrator. If you believe CLC may be the right fit for your child, please connect with your current school's principal or vice principal. They will guide you through the referral process and help determine next steps.
A Message to Families
We know that choosing an alternate program is a big decision. At CLC, we work in partnership with families to ensure every student feels supported and understood. Together, we create a pathway that honors each learner's unique journey.
