I am so happy to be able to tell you that school will be starting on Monday, September 22. You will find  attached a letter from Superintendent, Tom Grant regarding the school start up.

Here is the information regarding the first week for Roy Stibbs. 

If you know of any new families in the neighborhood please ask them to come to the school Monday morning to register.

·         On Monday, September 22,  the children (grade 1-5) come from 8:45-9:30.  We meet in the gym and then they go back to last year's classroom for a quick visit and attendance.

·         New students will meet in the library and a teacher will give them a tour and show them the  classroom they go to on Tuesday.

·         There will be signs on the doors to let you know which class your child will go to for attendance starting on Tuesday, September 23, and until they are in their new classes. (a few days)

·         For the next three days (approximately) the children (grade 1-5) will stay in grade level grouping (e.g. all grade 1s together with two or more teachers (depending on numbers). 

·         They will sometimes be all together and sometimes they will  break into smaller groups for different activities. 

·         This allows us to confirm the numbers and set the classes for the 2014-2015 school year. 

·         Once classes are made (approx. three days) the children will come home with a note letting  their parents know who their new teacher is and where the classroom is.

·         The following day they go to their new classroom where they will be for the remainder of the year.

If you ordered school supplies they have arrived at the school and once the children are in their new classes, their new teacher will give them their supplies and planner. For the first week of school they could bring a ziplock bag with some crayons, scissors, felt pens, pencil and eraser – if you have old/used supplies at home.  If you don’t have old supplies to send please don’t buy more, the teachers will have extra for the children to use during the first few days.
