PAC Agenda

  1. Welcome - introductions / new and returning families
  2. Executive Reports- executive positions to vote on / info on PAC positions
  1. Chair: Jen Bradley (Jensen)
  1. Donation Letter - letter to go out about accepting monetary donations through school cash online
  2. Christmas Hampers - likely similar to last year, 3 families, strictly by donation
  3. After School Activities - continue to be postponed until safe to resume
  4. Hotlunches.net - resuming account to host hot lunches and school spiritwear shop / branded RVP gear- tshirts, hoodies, masks
  • Hoping we can bring back hotlunch this year! Vendors who prepackage meals

  1. Vice Chair: Ashley Edgington  - (regrets) send out info for Return It fundraiser
  2. Treasurer: Katherine Mo

-if anyone is interested in being treasurer please let Katherine know

-break even last year

-gaming report for gaming funds for this year

-financial picture: $31,838

-spent more money than we brought in  last year/ put money towards the Library- Learning Commons- approved $17,000

- establish a budget for spending to stick to- been difficult with covid

  1. Chair- Jen Bradley Jensen stands as Chair
  1. 2 year term- Jen happy to support with this position / connect with Jen if you have questions - send an email
  2. Jen Bradley is past term, willing to stay unless someone else is interested but must move into past chair role by next school year
  3. Run meetings, set agenda, school PAC connections and relationships, open to opportunity
  1. Vice-Chair- good place to start if interested in being Chair in the future

  2. Ashley Edgington is past term
  3. Louise nominate Jermin Hsieh / Gisella seconds the nomination
  4. Welcome Jermin as Vice-Chair

  1. Katherine Mo - leaving next year - ideally someone could shadow Katherine this year
  1. DPAC -District PAC/ all the PACS come together and meet, consult with board of trustees

-attend DPAC meetings and report back/ if can’t attend meeting read the minutes and report to our PAC mtg

  1. Fundraising: Tanya Adams- let Tanya know if you want to help or take on any fundraisers
  • 3 ongoing fundraisers: return It depot, Big Brothers donations, True Earth (order and we get a kickback)
  • Limit emails in regards to fundraising
  • Money towards PAC
  • Purdy’s at Christmas is successful
  • Me & Eds Pizza fundraiser- order and school gets a percentage of profit from one night of ordering
  • No cash collected this year/ all online
  • Pumpkin patch at school / school courtyard
  • Hot lunch- delivered to exterior classroom doors

  1. Principal: Anita Young
  • Interim reports: advised my district not to be held in person meetings

        -sending home report on October 20th / can request a time to meet with teacher via phone or teams

-Early dismissal day- in lieu

-Class composition update- worked hard to coordinate classes

        -1 class in violation will fall out in November (class size and composition)

        -10 to 11 divisions

        - PAC purchased 35 ipads last spring- they have arrived!

        -Ipads/ laptops on carts/ sign out by teachers / disinfected before used by next group

        -revamping Action Plan for Learning- align with directions 2025- three focus area    Intellectual development, Indigenous Education,

        -added Indigenous resources to the library

        - Pro D day- staff working on common language/ conflict resolution/ Kindness- others, self, place (in class and as a school )

        - kids sense of community survey

        -virtual team time every second Wednesday/ no assemblies at this time

        - OCT. 8th Photo day

        - Halloween- activities on the Friday and Monday

                - Monday Nov. 1 Pajama day

                - intermediate Haunted House, parade, music

- Physically distanced staff meeting- possible in person PAC mtg in Nov. if parents are comfortable / keep meeting on teams until new year

  1. New Business -this is a time to share if you have ideas/ fundraisers that you would like PAC to consider - to add to agenda
  • Parking Chaos-  ideas??
  • difficult to do staggered start and end times
  • can the district help??
  • Paint yellow No Parking lines
  • Extremely busy and unsafe at the bottom of the driveway
  • Many cars stopping at the bottom of the driveway blocking
  • More signage at bottom
  • Drop Off/Pick Up Starts Here signs
  • Sandwich board with message for drop off/pick up
  • Cones in the middle of the driveway to separate lanes
  • Close the gate?
  • Parent volunteer
  • Bylaw officers have been around
  • Anita stand on the island in the afternoon / morning greeting students
  • Can help if parents stagger pick up/ 5 mins later can make a difference
  • Use traffic cones- in PAC storage room
  • Anita will reach out to district maintenance / follow up at November mtg - make a plan and discuss at next meeting
  • Create a map to show all areas that you can park/ drop off/ pick up

  • WALK and WHEEL WEDNESDAYS- can look into setting up a modified version of this
