Summer Camps

Registration will open 2013!

Inspired by our extremely popular Saturday workshop series, UBC Computer Science brings you TechTrek summer camps! Take computers to a whole new level with a wide range of activities intended to excite, amaze, and teach you REAL skills. Computer science brings a wealth of possibilities. Don’t just sit back and wait for the future... make it happen!

What/When/Where (more coming soon!)

Two summer camps are offered by TechTrek:

The Computing Camp is a five-day day camp geared especially towards students in Grades 8 through 11 (grade as of September 2012).  The camp features an introduction to programming through a variety of tasks intended to introduce you to computer science and its exciting applications in the real world.  You'll learn Java programming, tour our facilities, and bulid robots!  We offer activities at a variety of levels so new and old campers alike will gain something valuable from participating.  Camps are taught by our faculty and top-notch computer-science students.

Current camps available (each camp is the same):

July 3-6 (General CS Camp) - No class on July 2 Canada Day holiday

July 16-20 (General CS Camp)

The Robotics Camp is a five-day day camp geared especially towards students in Grades 8 through 11 (grade as of September 2012).  This camp teaches you the Vex Robotics system!  You'll work with a team to learn how to build a robot from scratch and program it to do your bidding.  At the end of the week join your friends in the arena for some fun head-to-head craziness in the robot arena!  Each year it's different! Camps are taught by our faculty and top-notch computer-science students.

Current camps available (each camp is the same):

July 9-13 (Robotics Camp)

July 23-27 (Robotics Camp)

All camps run from 9:00AM until 3:30PM at the ICICS/CS Building, 2366 Main Mall, UBC Campus. We recommend that you arrive at least a few minutes early for ease of sign-in. We will have extended drop-off (8:30am) and pick-up (4:30pm) times available for any student participants that require it.
