Local Mounties are investigating an attempted abduction of an 11 year-old Port Coquitlam - On November 4th at around 4:30 p.m., an 11 year-old child was walking the family pet near her home. A male drove up and stopped his vehicle near her on Knappen Street in the Citadel Heights neighbourhood. The male started to approach her once leaving his vehicle. The youngster turned around to run away from the man when she saw him running after her. He allegedly tried to grab her but she got away. She did not stop running until arriving at home. The suspect quickly fled scene afterward.
"This is a frightening experience for anyone, especially someone who is 11 year-old. Not only that she did everything right by running away in the opposite direction, she was also very observant despite it was getting dark outside at the time," said Corporal Jamie Chung.  "We are obviously very pleased that she is safe. Now we are focusing on the investigation."
The suspect is described as:

*         A Caucasian male in his late 30's,

*         5'11" tall & 170 lbs, and

*         Has short brown hair and blue eyes.
Unique characteristics:

*         A scar above his right eye,

*         A black lip ring on his lower lip, and

*         Possibly a black tattoo on his left neck area.
The suspect was wearing:

*         A black American Eagle hoodie with the logo across the front chest area,

*         black pants, and

*         black "skater-style" shoes.
The suspect was driving:

*         A late 90's white Ford cargo van,

*         With tinted front windows,

*         The rear and back windows were "spray-painted" white,

*         With rusty spots above the tires, and

*         The front plate was partially painted over.
