The British Columbia Principals' & Vice-Principals' Association honours the Coquitlam Presbyterian church's seven-year commitment to the Mountain View Elementary.
Lori Berry, the worship director, and husband Quinn Berry (alas Santa Claus), accepted the First Nation’s Art from President Kevin Reimer and School Principal Marsha Arnold.
The Coquitlam Presbyterian Church began their relationship with a community Christmas party held at the school and expanded their many contributions to such things as: coaching, tutoring, transporting students, paying for swimming and skating lessons, building bird houses and staging, helping with Santa’s breakfast, sending students to summer camp and even providing homemade cookies each week for all of the children.
Their humanitarian efforts have gone a long way to supporting Mountain View’s goal of increasing each child’s life chances every day.
The Coquitlam Principals' & Vice-Principals' association proudly nominated the church as an exceptional partnership between community and school.
Ms. Arnold reports that, when thanking the members for their contributions, their humble response has always been, “What else can we do to support the school and its families?”
They are our just one part of our amazing and committed Mountain View village.
