Reminders from Ms. Jung

Safety First!

We've all been playing together this week! It's time to check in and think about how that is going. What have you done to show respect? Here are some ideas. Step back and consider how others are feeling. Wear your mask when close to others and inside. Eat in class only.

R is for Respect

We had our first school wide assembly ever, for our grade 6s and 7s yesterday. It was an amazing feeling to enjoy a performance together even if some of us couldn't see! It was hard for some of us to gather together. But, we all managed and some better than others. Some of us had to go outside for a brisk play beforehand or at the gym, take some long deep breaths! Some of us took our thoughts to our happy or calm place. That was a great idea! Some of us needed a walk. How can we avoid interrupting our performers and our audience and stay in our seats for 1 hour?! We will try again tomorrow. Please plan ahead and visit the washroom beforehand and remember these strategies!

Lost and Found

Please be sure to have a look at the PowerPoint to make sure you haven't misplaced something that is yours! If you can identify it clearly to your teacher, Ms. Jung or Christine, the item will be returned to you!

Spring Cleaning

Please take some time today and tomorrow to clean up and sort through your belongings. Extra waste and recycle bins are being placed in the hallways for us. Please fold papers rather than crumpling them into the bins, please!

Message of Peace

Thank you to those of you in Ms. Egelstad's and Mme. Grayston's class who have been helping Mat and Adison make buttons for us all. Here is Adison now!

Birthdays

There are no birthdays today, but over the holidays Mme. Grayston will certainly celebrate a birthday! Woohoo!

After school programs

There are still spots left in our spring after school programs. Cooking on Monday or Tuesday, and an Art Club on Wednesdays. Go to portmoody.ca/signmeup to register. More information is on the posters around the school, on our website, or ask Christine!

Message of Hope

Here's part 1 of a message of hope that lies in each of us and it is by Mr. Clay's favourite author, Richard Wagamese. Here, Mr. Wagamese meets another person and they talk about the flight of an eagle.

From here, it looks like that bird has no worries, no cares. When the eagle's up there so high she's got to learn how (to fly). (It takes work) to soar so gracefully. We admire it because it looks so effortless. But, it takes incredible perseverance. It takes humility. It takes courage. It takes faith. But those things, too, become automatic when you choose them enough. When you choose them enough you get in touch with your identity too. But it takes work and perseverance to get there.
