Reminders from Ms. Jung
Safety First
We've been hand washing for some time now and if we are washing our hands every day when we arrive, exit, before and after we eat, before and after we play, and when we've been to the washroom, then we are using at least 10 piece of paper towel per person a day. There are approximately 450 of us. That's 4500 pieces of paper towel per day and often, we take two pieces of paper towels which totals 9000 pieces of paper towels a day! Try it for a week and see if you can get your hands dry using one piece of paper towel. Last year, Ms. Jung shared a video of how 12 shakes of your hands after washing allows you to be successful with just one piece of paper towel. Thankfully the washrooms have blowers to dry our hands without paper towels!
R is for Respect
Active listening is one way we show respect towards others with whom we are talking, watching and paying attention to. Look with your eyes, hear, feel, taste and touch with all your senses! Others who are spending time with you will appreciate you more and return the favour when you need a listening ear!
International Women's Day!
Today is International Women's Day! Let's celebrate all the females who have made a difference in our lives. Perhaps it's a Mom, Grandparent, a teacher or even the neighbour's' youngest daughter! It could also be Dr. Roberta Bondar, first Canadian astronaut or Viola Desmond on our $5 bill! It is never too late to renew your short and long term goals to set sights on being kind, compassionate, hard working and someone of significance to the lives of others! Together, we'll be able to do some great things as we take the time to build authentic relationships with others, especially the women in our lives!
