Daily Announcements- 21-May-2021

May 20, 2021

It's Friday!!

We are happy to welcome the following visitors to our school! We hope you feel safe today - Ms. Reed, Ms. Howard, Mr. Salalila, Ms. Kovari and Ms. Hernandez.

Reminders From Ms. Jung

We have been doing our daily health checks regularly but has it become too much a part of our routine that we aren't thinking about it carefully enough? We are being kind, masking up, physically distancing and washing our hand but firstly, we should be checking if we have 2 or more symptoms of illness - worsening cough, nausea, fever and other symptoms our provincial health officer insists are critical to watch for in maintaining our safety and deciding when to stay home. This weekend, find it on our website and review it together as a family again! Thank you for doing your part to be kind, be calm, and be safe!

Our Virtual Book Fair is now live! Shop online anytime through our own shopping site. The link can be found on Teams, the Moody Newsletter, and on the school website. Wednesday is Family Night, with free shipping on any order. Get a head start on your summer reading because remember, all purchases earn rewards for the library, for new books. Happy Reading!

If you have designed an EMMSOTA bookmark, please try to hand them in to your teacher today. Ms. Leonard had received some great entries so far but knows there are many more great artists out there, so get yours in today!

Some leadership students from Gleneagle Secondary are fundraising for Backpack Buddies, which is an organization dedicated to filling backpacks for vulnerable children, supplying them with meals and snacks, and overall supporting families in need in the Tri-City area. They are fundraising through music livestreams on their YouTube account. Local members of the community perform and help raise awareness to what Backpack Buddies does. Their link will be on Moody's website.

This Friday at 7pm they have local musician Jordan Klassen performing. He has been nominated for the 2020 Prism Prize, 2019 UK Music Video Awards, has had songs on CBC Radio Top 20 chart at No. 11 and CBC Music Top 20 at No. 17 and finished as a top three finalist in the 2012 Peak Performance Project.

The high school students hope to show that even if we are all physically separated from each other, our community can connect through supporting local artists and important causes that change lives!

Joke of the Day!
