​Good Morning EMMMSOTA Community.

 As many of you know our school community dealt with an emergency response this morning and police were involved. The following statement has been issued by our District and is posted on our website. The Port Moody Police will also be issuing a statement of their own.

 “An earlier situation at Ecole Moody Middle School that resulted in a Police response has been resolved. Students and staff are all safe and have returned to class. We are proud of the cooperative response of students and staff in response to this incident. We are also appreciative of the Port Moody Police Department for their response and quick resolution of the situation. Port Moody PD will issue a statement later today. “

 I would like to thank all of our parent community for their patience as we navigated this emergency response. I would also like to reiterate how proud we are of our staff and students for their incredible response to a very difficult situation. Students and staff reacted quickly and calmly to all police direction and we were able to secure our students in a safe and orderly fashion while police were able to perform their due diligence in ensuring the building was safe to return to. We went back inside the building at approximately 10:10 AM and students are currently back to their work under the care and guidance of their teachers.

 I understand these events can be traumatizing for students, parents and staff and we strongly encourage you to reach out to us or other community members if you feel you need any support. I also ask that as parents you keep a close watch on your children, as all students and adults react differently to these situations. We want to ensure your children are feeling ok in the aftermath of this event.

 You should all feel incredibly proud of how your children responded and should feel very confident in the care that was provided by our staff. Everyone was amazing!
