Greetings ÉMMSOTA Families.

Please see attached an important update from Rob Fleming, Minister of Education and Andrea Sinclair, President of the BC Confederation of Parent Advisory Councils, regarding COVID-19. Translated versions in Punjabi, Chinese and French are also included. 

This week we enter into even more uncharted waters as teachers return from March Break and we begin our plans for a new educational delivery model. There is still much that is up in the air and we are doing everything we can to provide a coordinated approach for the students in our school and district. We appreciate your patience as we take the time to get things up and running this week.

Our number one focus for everyone; staff, students and families is health and safety. We ALL still need to play a crucial role in flattening the curve around this COVID-19 Pandemic.

This week minimal staff will be attending on site at École Moody Middle School. Any staff that needs to come to school to collect materials will be doing so in a limited capacity and on a specific schedule outlined by the Administration with the purpose of establishing the correct tools to begin some on-line educational programming. Teachers will begin reaching out to their students and families likely by phone later next week to confirm students are set up for some on-line educational support and programming. Please let us know if you do not hear from your child's teacher(s) by the end of next week.

I am sure you all have many questions about next steps. I will do my best to update you regularly on plans moving forward and you will be in contact with your child's teacher(s) soon enough. More information will come to you next week regarding retrieval of supplies. This process will take some consideration to ensure the health and safety of staff and students and likely will not happen in the first few days. Thank you for your ongoing support and understanding.
