RCMP Name The Foal Contest

July 05, 2013

Ottawa, May 30, 2013 –Canada’s national police force is asking for help from children and youth 14 years old and under to name six foals that will be born this spring at the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) breeding farm in Pakenham, Ontario. Some of these horses may one day be part of the world-famous Musical Ride!
“The Musical Ride is excited to once again invite youth from across Canada and around the world to submit their name suggestions for our foals,” said Sergeant Malcolm Eskelson of the RCMP Musical Ride Branch. “The Name the Foal contest has become an annual tradition we look forward to, thanks to the enthusiasm and creativity of the participants.”
Children are encouraged to submit their entries on the RCMP web site.
To qualify, entries must meet the following criteria:
Names must begin with the letter “K” and must be 6 letters or less.
Entries must include the entrant’s name, age, address and telephone number, as well as the suggested name.

  1. Entries must come from those 14 years old or younger.
  2. Only one entry per child will be eligible.
  3. On-line entries must be received no later than July 8, 2013.
Note: in the event of duplicate winning foal names, only the first entry received will be considered.

Winning names will be chosen by instructors of the RCMP Musical Ride Branch.  Winners will be announced in September of this year, and their names will be posted on the RCMP website.  The winning entries will receive a number of RCMP prizes.

C'mon, Kilmer kids - can you use your imagination?  Names can be submitted online at http://www.rcmp-grc.gc.ca/mr-ce/foal-poulain-eng.htm .
