The day is to recognize the struggle for civil rights fought by Black and Racialized Canadians. Usually it's on Jan 15th (Martin Luther King Jr's birthday, but that's on a Saturday this year). This is a day of education and remembrance and an invitation to necessary conversations about racial justice.
