Welcome to Canada and to School District No. 43 (Coquitlam).

SD43 is pleased to welcome all new families to our communities and schools.


We have a long and successful history of serving refugees. We are well practiced and have expertise and services in place.

Families

Settlement Workers In Schools (SWIS) - government-funded and school-based settlement service for newcomer families to meet their immediate and ongoing settlement needs.

Adults (18+)

 Language Instruction for Newcomers to Canada (LINC) - provides basic and intermediate level English language instruction and settlement information to adults new to Canada. 



Students (5-18)

Immigrant Youth in Schools - supporting immigrant and refugee students in Gr. 9 to 12.
EAL - assists students in the school system to become proficient in English.
Students 16 years of age may take classes at Coquitlam Continuing Education in addition to their regular schooling.

Pre-Kindergarten (0-5)

StrongStart - free, drop-in early learning program for children aged 0-5 accompanied by a parent or caregiver.
Ready, Set, Learn! - welcomes 3 year-olds and their families to the school system.
