Encompass 10-12 supports youth in Grades 10-12. Students learn in small structured groups within a quiet and self-paced setting. The program focusses on addressing the unique ways in which students learn and places a key emphasis on the home-school partnership. Core academic courses and a smaller variety of electives at Encompass allow students to complete a Dogwood Diploma. Students can be cross-enrolled in mainstream schools to access additional elective(s) The program is intended for students who have difficulty establishing a productive connection with mainstream school and find purposeful engagement difficult to manage. Encompass works in tandem with families and caregivers to provide a supportive program for students.
Purpose
Encompass 10-12 provides a pathway towards graduation that is individualized and student-centered. Through a self-paced and supported approach, students can graduate at Encompass or work toward a return to learning and graduation in a mainstream setting. Flexibility in scheduling and a focus on 1:1 communication with teachers is central at Encompass 10-12 and the program prioritizes social practice in academic and peer-concentrated settings. The program is individualized and focused on student interests and the goals in their SLP (Student Learning Plan) which is the guiding document for program planning and assessment.

Schedule
Encompass 10-12 students:
- Attend 3-4 half days per week
- Participate in drop-ins outside of regular schedule
- Intetgrate elective(s) at mainstream sites into their schedules where applicable
- Access parent support for learning outside of school schedule
Community Partnerships
Encompass 10-12 works with Tri-Cities Child and Youth Mental Health and a range of community supports for youth and families on an ongoing basis.
Eligibility Criteria & Referral Information
Referrals to Encompass 10-12 are initiated by a student's neighbourhood school. Students from out of district must register at their home school as direct referrals to Encompass 10-12 cannot be made for out of district students. All referrals are considered through School-Based Team processes in collaboration with mainstream schools and Encompass 10-12 intake procedures. The program has a maximum capacity.
