Alpha Wolves

Alpha Wolves are the ambassadors of Pinetree.  Originally formed to help Grade 9's adjust to high school life at the school, the club now has evolved into a leadership group.

Art / Metal Jewelry Making Club

Teacher sponsor:  Mr. Kachor
Location:  After school on Wednesdays in B101

For staff and students interested in learning how to make jewelry or to work with metal in a fun and artistic way. 

Beach Volleyball Club

Teacher sponsor:  Ms. Armstrong 

Interested students get out on the beach courts on Tuesdays and Thursdays after school to learn how to play beach volleyball and to prepare for tournament competions.  Recreational and competitive players are welcome.  Beach club starts up after Spring Break and runs in the gym on rainy days.  See Mrs. Armstrong in the gym for more details.   

Book Lounge Club

Interested students meet to discus literature, movies, art, history, and current events.

Charity Band

This group of students volunteers their time to perform at charity events and seniors homes. 

Club 180

When you become a Christian, you see things in a whole other perspective: a Christian perspective.  A 180 turn over. 
During our student-led meetings, we study the Bible and discuss the Christian walk, Christian novels, world issues, and how we can impact the world.

Debate Club

Drag Racing

Mr. Kalyk sponsors this group of students who put quite a substantial effort into Pinetree's "Racing Rocket."  Please see Mr. Kalyk in B106 if you are interested in joining.

Drop-in Chess

Go-Fit Club

In an effort to offer extra opportunities for students to complete their DPA, this club runs fitness activities once or twice a month. . It also provides leadership opportunities in that each month different members of the club have to come up with and develop the month’s activities. The rest of the club helps support them in whatever they need to make that month’s events happen.

Grad Council

The grade 12 students in this club work to create events to make the graduating year memorable for all senior students.  Grade 12 students are welcome to join anytime throughout the year. 

International Students Community

Library Volunteers

Ms. Chartrand, the Library Assistant,  organizes the students who volunteer their time to help keep the library running smoothly.  Students volunteer in their off-blocks and before school, and at lunch.

Manga / Anime Club

Students with an interest and a passion for manga and anime  share their knowledge, talent, and interests in this club.

This student-led group explores the applications of mathematics in the real world.  They practice abstract theories and refine their problem-solving skills. 

Model Car Club

Multicultural Advancement Project (MAP) Club

The MAP Club combines volunteer work and fun.  MAP students meet weekly to strengthen relationships between its multicultural male members and the community.

Music Council

This student-led group strives to create an environment which involves music students in the planning of concerts and social events.  This group is open to any student in the band or choir.

 Musical Theatre

The Musical Theatre class is currently rehearsing the musical, "13" to be performed in February 2012. 

 Model UN Club

Nature Trust / Environmental Awareness Club

This group works to support the Nature Trust and its initiatives, and will also look at other issues in the environment.

Odyssey of the Mind

PT Business Team

Dedicated to learning about business, Pinetree's Business Team strives to engage members in becoming innovative entrepreneurs with passion. We prepare ourselves for competitions all over the Lower
Mainland.                                                                                                                                                   

Red Cross Club

This is the place for students who are interested in what is happening in the world and some of the initiatives of the Red Cross. 

Scorers and Timekeepers Club Teacher  sponsors:  Mr. Smith and Ms. Armstrong

Scorers and Timers learn the duties of scorekeepers for volleyball and basketball games. Members schedule themselves to cover all the games that are hosted at Pinetree.  See either teacher in the gym for more details. 

Share Food Bank Volunteer / Fundraiser Committee

Volunteer at the Share Food Bank and help organize activities to fundraise for this worthy organization.  The principle of the group is to create awareness of the poverty and needs of families in our community, and also to involve youth to give back to others.  

Ski & Snowboarding Club

Teacher sponsors:  Mrs. Babcock / Mr. Sheehan

Mrs. Babcock and Mr. Sheehan organize five  trips to Whistler and an overnight trip to Big White during the ski season.  Watch "The Howl"  for details on when to sign up in November!

Spanish Club

Spanish club at Pinetree Secondary opens up a world of possibilities for cultural exploration and entertainment. This club gets together to plan fun activities for the whole school. Activities include food, dance, art, films, and field trips to Spanish speaking countries.

A student-led club with a focus on raising funds for local and international charities and gaining  volunteer experience.

Grade days, Spookagrams,  Candygrams, Valentine flowers... these school events - and more - are organized by Pinetree's Student Council.  Members meet weekly  to discuss initiatives and to put them into action!

Table Tennis

Tennis

Location:  Tuesday from 3:30 - 6:00 on the tennis courts

 Students of all abilities are welcome to come out on Tuesday's to practice their skills.  We will be using the courts Sept - Oct, and resuming in the Spring when the official tennis seasons starts. 

Treehouse Theatre Council
