S-Trip Information -Not an Authorized Port Moody Overnight Trip

April 11, 2013
Parents and Guardians,
We have had a number of conversations with parents over the last few weeks regarding the S-Trip Company who is inviting our Grade 11 students to participate in a week long overnight trip in July 2013 to Pacific Mexico.  There can also be other trips organized by S-Trips on the winter breaks and spring breaks of each school year. We want to clarify with our parent community that this S-Trip Organization is not affiliated with Port Moody Secondary or District 43 (Coquitlam).  The S-Trip activity is not a school authorized trip.

Th S-Trip Company makes contact with a few students who act as representatives in our school, who then recruit our grade 11 students to participate in a trip.  Brochures have been distributed to our grade 11 students as of April 11, 2013.  Parents may be approached by your son or daughter regarding this trip.

The information we have from the past trips is that the supervision, behaviour expectations and safety for students on the S-Trips is very different than a District 43 (Coquitlam) authorized overnight trip.

We understand that parents will make decisions whether you send your child on this trip but we want to ensure that you have our best information and you understand that the       S-Trip is not a Port Moody authorized overnight trip.
