Dear Parents/Guardians:
By now you may have heard that there is a prediction of snow in the weather forecast. In the event of a district-wide or partial-district closure due to extreme weather this will be decided and communicated by 6:30 a.m. via the School District 43 website www.sd43.bc.ca and CKNW AM 980 radio, CKWX 1130 radio and CBC (690) radio. Please do not phone the school. If Pinetree Secondary or School District 43 is not mentioned as being closed, then school is in session.
The school's parking lot and sidewalks are salted/cleared when ice/snow is an issue; however, everyone needs to exercise caution when using our parking lot or walking along sidewalks in sub zero temperatures. We clear the snow/ice as often as we can but we cannot guarantee that areas will be slick-free. Please ensure that your child is dressed appropriately for the conditions, e.g. proper footwear – preferably winter boots with proper grip (not heels or runners), gloves, toques, warmer jackets, etc.
Thanks,
Jeremy Clarke
