Student-Led Conference Week and Early Dismissal @ 1:45 PM and Parent-Teacher Virtual Interviews – Thursday, February 25th, 2021

Our school community is needing to adjust our final early dismissal date of the school year in order to accommodate our Student-Led Conference format this year.

Parkland will be hosting a Student-Led Conference Week from February 22nd to 25th where students will be presenting their student-led conference at home with their family.

Our early dismissal date will be on Thursday, February 25th at 1:45 PM with parent-teacher conference time available until 5:00 PM on that date.

More details will be sent out closer to the time and we are looking forward to sharing our students' learning using this format.

Reminder to complete the Daily Health Screen Check

Thank you to everyone who is continuing to perform the Daily Heath Check every morning. This is an important tool in continuing to ensure our school community is happy, healthy and safe.

The Daily Health Screen is attached to this message.

Traffic Safety and Back Parking Lot Reminder

Our school community is committed that drop off and pick up are done in a safe and consistent manner. We have recently invested in some new signs in the back parking lot to help with the flow of traffic with more physical reminders to come. I'm asking that parents please be mindful of the following to ensure the safest conditions for our students and children:

1. Use the designated crosswalks. This includes adults.

2. Slow down. School zones are 30km/hr.

3. No U-Turns. Please do not pull U-Turns in front of the school for any reason at any time. It is illegal to do a U-Turn on any road in Coquitlam unless designated.

4. Please keep the Quick Drop Off and Pick Up Zone quick! The by-law states that you have 3 minutes and other people are waiting their turn. We also want to avoid cars swerving around one another.

5. Give pedestrians the right of way. It's the law. This includes at the crosswalks on Poirier and Schoolhouse.

6. Obey the street signs. DO NOT park where there are no parking signs.

Attached is information about the back parking lot and some courteous habits to make traffic flow smooth for drop off and pick up.
