Any new unwrapped toy donations is appreciated as well. Drop off tables will be available in the front and back of Parkland from 8:40 to 9:00 AM every day and safety protocols will be in place.

Traffic Safety and Back Parking Lot Information

Drop off and Pick Up are an ongoing safety concern. I'm asking that parents please be mindful of the following to ensure the safest conditions for our students and children:

1. Use the designated crosswalks. This includes adults.

2. Slow down. School zones are 30km/hr.

3. No U-Turns. Please do not pull U-Turns in front of the school for any reason at any time. It is illegal to do a U-Turn on any road in Coquitlam unless designated.

4. Please keep the Quick Drop Off and Pick Up Zone quick! The by-law states that you have 3 minutes and other people are waiting their turn. We also want to avoid cars swerving around one another.

5. Give pedestrians the right of way. It's the law. This includes at the crosswalks on Poirier and Schoolhouse.

6. Obey the street signs. DO NOT park where there are no parking signs.

Attached is some information about the back parking lot and some courteous habits to make traffic flow smooth for drop off and pick up.

Boots and Jackets – Wet Weather

Please make sure your student is equipped with appropriate wear for rain and wet conditions – boots and jackets is a must for this time of year. Students are going outside more frequently during break times as our school is tightly scheduled to have classrooms cleaned during these times. A change of dry clothes is also recommended for your child's backpack.

Meridian Meats Gift Card Fundraiser

If anyone is interested in purchasing Meridian Meats Gift Cards this holiday season, the PAC has organized an order where families can purchase the gift cards and have a portion of the proceeds go back to the school. Look for more information this week and purchases can be made through SchoolCashOnline.

Coquitlam Library Holiday Hello Project

The Coquitlam Public Library is inviting children to write a holiday greeting, compile well-wishes or create an art project that the Library can include in care-packages. These care-packages will be distributed to seniors and older adults in our community! To learn more about this project, check out: https://www.coqlibrary.ca/holiday-hellos
