Greetings ÉMMSOTA Community.
We had our first full day in the building with ALL staff and went through start up procedures and health and safety protocols in anticipation of the arrival of your children later this week. The energy is beginning to seep back into the building and we are all looking forward to reconnecting with our students.
I am looking forward to seeing some of you online tomorrow evening, Wednesday September 9th at 6:30 PM for our Zoom ÉMMSOTA Town Hall. My apologies for the confusion in my previous email.

I have attached the schedule for students arriving on both Thursday and Friday again, as well as some overhead maps that indicate the line up and location for meeting, to help clarify. Again it will be important that families plan ahead so that we mitigate any traffic flow issues and allow for as much physical distancing upon arrival and exiting the school grounds. James Street is available for some drop off and pick up. The weather will be nice so please encourage walking or parking a bit further away. We are asking that if parents/guardians are coming with their child that they congregate off site and establish a meet up place after students are done at the school. The first day is only a short meet and greet day (approx.. 15-30 minutes) and Friday will be meeting with students for an hour.
We are asking all students to be wearing masks on the first days upon arrival and at all times, as we will not be establishing our “learning cohorts" until Monday. The District has provided one reusable mask for all students and they will receive that from their core (learning group) teacher on Monday September 14th.
Students will know their learning group (core class) number before they leave on Friday. They will be told what time and where they are meeting their teachers on Monday September 14th, their first day in the new learning group (class). I will forward to each family their learning group number (class division) via email later on Friday afternoon. I will also send accompanying maps that outline meeting places adjacent to separated entry and exit locations. We will have staff on hand at both drop off and pick up to direct students and help them maintain physical distancing at all times. Please help us remind your children how important it is to maintain physical distancing protocols (2 meters) at all times outside of their learning group (core class).
Thank you all for your support as we get this very different year off the ground with the focus on health and safety for all students, staff and our community.
Cheers for now.
